BMS News Bytes 1/27

Dear BMS Community,

We have had a great week at BMS.  Students are working very hard and engaged in great learning activities.  We love it when we hear our students engaged in the high levels of conversation on topics such as our U.S. Constitution, clean water for third world countries, and the processes behind creating scaled drawings in math and art class!

We are almost through with winter MAP testing and it looks like many students are progressing very well!

Though it has been a good week, there has been a great many absences and students are getting sick left and right.  Please remind students to wash their hands, cover their mouths and noses if they cough or sneeze.  We want to keep our Bruins well!

Congratulations to the following who are the latest STUDENTS OF THE MONTH!  We are so proud of our students they continually demonstrate the Bruin Way and seek to be Bold in Kindness, Courage and Work Ethic on a daily basis!  Keep up the Great Work!!

First Week Back/ Map Testing /Attendance Reminder

Good Morning Bruin Nation,

We are jumping right in during the second semester, students are quickly getting back into the swing of things.  BMS teachers and staff are engaging students in high levels of learning every day.

Currently we are in the middle of our winter MAP Testing sessions.  Please make sure students are at school so they can complete their assessments.

On that note, please remember students need to be in their homeroom/first period class by 8:00 a.m.. We don't want students to be marked tardy to school, or have an unexcused check in if at all possible. Thank you for your help in this endeavor by getting your child to school in plenty of time to be in class and ready to work by 8:00 am. Thank you too, for making sure they get to school every day- attendance is a huge indicator of student academic success, so please make sure they get to school!

Our first ever Renaissance Rally for students will be tomorrow  we have come up with some fun activities for our students who have straight A's, A's and B's and perfect attendance.  We are happy to report that we have more than 50% or our school eligible to participate. We will post pictures tomorrow evening!

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help your child grow.
