Dear BMS Community,
Students and staff alike have been head over heels doing their best here at BMS this week.  Students have worked very hard and so has the staff.  We have only a short time left with these students this year and there is still a great many things left to do!!! 

We hope everyone takes a much needed break to rest this weekend so that when we get back to school on Tuesday we are ready to finish out the year strong!!   Keep being amazing Bruin Nation! 

BMS NEWS! 
The FLAT BRUIN- (click here) If you know how "Flat Stanley" works then you know how the Flat Bruin will work this summer! Print it out- color it to your liking and take a picture of the Bruin while you are doing some great things!    Take a picture and post it to social media using the hashtag #beboldbruins If you check it out on social media you will see there are already some posted! We can't wait to see all the places you and your Bruin will go!! 

BMS 2018 Yearbooks go on sale Tuesday. They are $15. each. They will be sold in the lobby from 7:40-8:00 only.  Cash or check. Once they are gone once sold out.

8th Graders: Dance tickets will go on sale Tuesday.  Tickets will be sold Tuesday through Friday for $10.00 from 7:40-8:00 in the front lobby only. No Tickets will be sold at the door. Students will not be able to purchase tickets at the door. (If students have books checked out from the library. Please return your library books as soon as possible.)

Dear BMS Community,


It has been a ridiculously busy week here at BMS. We had a wonderful band and choir concert Monday evening. We have had our baseball team playing in the championship tournament, we had our first ever STEAM night, 5th grade band rental night, and today we finished the week with our KPREP Pep Rally.   The 8th Grade Grizzlies are in the lead for the House competition and they finally won the spirit competition today at the KPREP pep rally.  They are pumped for success.  We want all of our students to be pumped for success.  With the spirit competition being so close today and I must say it seems as though all of the kids here in South Bullitt County are ready to be GAME ON! Thank you to everyone, parents, students and staff alike for a fantastic week.

PTSA
We love our PTSA! Thank you for all you do! Thank you for helping helping with Chromebook collection. Thank you for providing gift cards as thank yous to Ms. Newton, Ms. Clack, Mr. Webb and parent Ms. Grecco! Thank you for providing the prizes for the KPREP rally of an amazon gift card and Walmart gift cards! Breanne W. Bridget G were the student winners and Amy Bush was the teacher winner!

CHROMEBOOKs 

We collected Chromebooks this week and want to thank our PTSA members and Jr Member for helping.  There were 440 laptops to be collected, assessed for damage, cleaned and catalogued.   Thank you to our parents who helped with this process. We learned a great deal regarding logistics this year so we know next year will be a great deal easier.   One issue is there were several that were damaged as we collected them.  Ms. Ojala will send home notices to parents of students whose device has been damaged.  Please email her with any questions. toni.ojala@bullitt.kyschools.us

May 14- May 18: Celebrations and News! Check us Out!

Dear BMS Community,

Thank you for the wonderful teacher gifts and sweet surprises that you blessed your student's teachers with this week.  Everyone truly felt blessed and appreciated! The biggest blessing to BMS teachers, (corny as it sounds) is the honor of being able to work with each one of your children.  Thank you for sharing them with us every day! 






We had a great day on Thursday with students.  We had an Ice Cream Social where we celebrated all 7th and 8th graders who earned a Proficient or Distinguished rating on KPREP last year.  They had an Ice Cream Sundae, music and a little bit of time to just be a kid! We hope to have twice as many participate next year! It was a great time!

Chromebook collection will begin May 14 and be completed for most students by May 18. The program is a yearly lease and students will be reissued the Chromebooks at the start of next year when they complete their lease agreement for next school year.  We hope to make this a smooth and easy process for students.  If you still have Chromebook repair fees out, please contact Ms. Ojala (toni.ojala@bullitt.kyschools.us) for details, information and questions.

May 7- May 11 News, Information and Celebrations

Dear BMS Community,

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! As always we are extremely proud of BMS students.  Their Midterms went home with them on THURSDAY. Please ask to see it, if for some reason they lost it between school and home, just log into Infinite Campus and you should see the same information. 

Spring MAP testing is complete and we are on the home stretch! KPREP is May 21, 23,24 & 25, please help make sure your student is in attendance on those days.  

We had our last school wide Bruin Bash on Thursday, students had a fantastic time! We are so happy to celebrate students who continue to show the Bruin Way.  There is at least one more House Level Bash to be had this year- it is still a tight competition- that could go to anyone! We are also going to have our end of the year Renaissance Rally, which is yet another student celebration.  BMS loves to highlight the great things students do toward their own success! 

We still have a lot of hard work to do this year, and we are going to have some great celebrations!  Please keep reading for more information!
