December 14- December 18: Student News, Updates and Celebrations

 Dear Bernheim Community,

If December was hard to believe, Christmas is even harder to believe! Yet we are approaching the last week before Christmas Break and we are sure everyone could use the mental break!  As the weeks roll forward there will be more updates regarding the return of school athletics, the return to in person classes, and of course there will be news regarding meeting students needs in a post 2020 world.  Please know we are going to do everything we can to support you, your children and  your families through this time.
We are looking forward to 2021 with great expectation.    We are celebrating student success here at BMS through House Competitions, House Bash, Bruin Bash, Students of the Week, Leaders of the Month and we will be rolling out another way to celebrate Gold, Silver, Bronze and Grit card winners with our New Ren Card Reward Program! Look for updates soon! Bottom line, participate in Zoom Classes, and do your school work and you will be a Ren Card Winner!

Academic Success :
Academic Success (ESS) will be on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:00-4:30 pm for students who are currently in need of extra support. While we are remote we are only offering 'Virtual' Academic support for students.  Once we are in-person again we will be able to offer both options.  If you would like your student to be a part of the Academic Success Program and you didn't receive a letter please contact Ms. Kuykendall at sheila.kuykendall@bullitt.kyschools.us and she can add your student to the google classroom.  All we need from you is that you have your student log on.

8TH GRADE, it is time to think about High School!
This week in Advisory we have been discussing "Life After Middle School." The teachers have shared information about the programs and pathways available to the students in High School. It is our hope that beginning our discussions early, students will have time to explore all options available to them. This will hopefully make those scheduling decisions easier when the time comes for that. Students have taken some Career/Interest Assessments through an online platform called Naviance. I would encourage you to have your student share their Naviance results with you as well as their takeaways from this week's lessons. Please note once all high school scheduling information has been released we will share that with students and families right away.   Attached is the information shared with the students this week. Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Bush with any questions.
