May 19, 2017 Bruins in the House!

Dear BMS Community,

It is hard to believe that the year is nearly over.  Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help your student become a successful young adult.  We have a lot to celebrate this year. BMS students worked very hard during our KPREP Assessment, our athletes are performing very well and BMS has some of the most talented young students around.  Today Mr. Cravens sponsored the Talent show and we had  eight wonderfully talented students perform for our school.

As the year comes to an end it is soon time to say goodbye to our extraordinary 8th grade students. We are very proud of our 8th graders as they have morphed from Bruins to Cougars right before our very eyes.   We will certainly miss these fine young men and women next year as they move on to the next phase of their goals. However, when we say good-bye we think of one very famous little stuffed Bruin, Winnie-the-Poo, and his wonderful simple truths.  We are very lucky to have the honor of serving the class of 2021 and it will be hard to say good-bye- we know they will do great things!

Celebrations:

Chromebook Roll Out

Exciting News for BCPS Middle School students:
Access 24 Chromebook Announcement
On July 27th 2017, Bernheim Middle staff will be distributing Chromebooks to all registered 6th through 8th grade students, from 10 AM - 7 PM in the Bullitt Central High School gym. In order to be issued a Chromebook, students and a parent or guardian will need to bring the $35 Access 24 technology fee in either check or cash and parent identification. (You are encouraged to come early in the day to avoid more crowded times in the late afternoon / evening.) Consistent with Board policy 09.15, no child shall be denied full participation in any educational program due to an inability to pay for, or rent, necessary instructional resources. Please contact us prior to the launch date if you have questions about the ability to pay this leasing fee.

Prior to attending the Chromebook launch for our school, please read and review the Bullitt County T.R.U.E. (Technology Responsible Use Expectations) - click here.  This document will explain user agreement terms, expectations, and responsibilities. Remember that the Chromebooks are still the property of the District and their contents may be viewed at any time. Students are expected to have their Chromebooks with them each day, fully charged, and ready for use. Access to these resources is permitted when exercised in an appropriate and responsible manner as required by this policy and related procedures, which applies to all parties who use District technology.

As always please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, eNews, BMS News Bytes and the school website.  If I may ever be of assistance please feel free to cal (502) 869-4000 or email me at katie.stephens@bullitt.kyschoools. us.

Thank you for a fantastic school year and we will see you next year!
