1/8/24-1/12/24 BMS Newsbytes: NTI information, Yearbook Sales, Student celebrations and more!

Dear Bernheim Community,

We are so happy to see our students back for semester 2! We have so much to be excited for and for which to get ready! This week students were jumping back into procedures and routines and overall they did a good job.  Getting back to a regular schedule after a long break is a challenge for all of us!

We have so many things to be excited about! Our BMS CEO students have helped facilitate THREE Community Contributor projects this year.  It is a wonderful thing to see students impacting their community! Of course, there is more to come! Just know BMS has so many amazing students we can’t wait to see the wonderful work they will do as they continue to grow!

Mr. Loudermilk has grown the BMS FCA to great numbers! They keep needing a bigger and bigger space, encouraging those that belong to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a beautiful thing, watching our students support one another in all ways is awe inspiring!

SNOW DAY/NTI

We can’t predict the weather, but we can predict there may be a day of weather causing the district to go into NTI.  Below is the schedule for such a day.  We have students starting at 9:00 am and being done by 11:00 am so that they can go outside and play in the snow. (If we get any) Please be sure your student is up and online.  We will be taking attendance on NTI days and as long as students are in attendance the state will count the day! You won’t have to make it up at the end of the year.  Please make sure your students are up, Chromebooks ready, and ready to go!

Which House is Winning This week? BMS  has a house system that is based on students' year of graduation.  Each house can earn points based on areas that are linked to the Bruin Way.  Points are earned by the percentage of the house on the honor roll, free from referrals, attendance, school spirit, showing responsibility for yourself and others,  participation in community service, random acts of kindness, and more!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRIZZLIES WHO PULLED OFF A WIN FOR THE 2ND QUARTER HOUSE COMPETITION. THEY ROCKED THE FOOD DRIVE AND THE DOOR DECORATING CONTEST.

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

 Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @henryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
