January 13, 2025 BMS Newsbytes: News, Updates, Celebrations and Information about Yearbooks

Dear Bernheim Community,

Thank you for making our first NTI day back from Christmas break such a success! While it wasn’t quite the start we envisioned—thanks to Mother Nature—our amazing students rose to the occasion and absolutely rocked it. From strong participation in Google Meets to completing assignments in Google Classroom, you’ve shown just how resilient and dedicated Bruin Nation truly is.

We are so proud of your efforts and can’t wait to see you back in person next week! Let’s keep this momentum going and make 2025 an incredible year. Go Bruins!

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

Reminder for 8th Grade Families:
Our 8th-grade students will be visiting the Area Technology Center and Riverview Opportunity Center on January 28th. Permission slips will be sent home next week, so please be on the lookout and ensure they are signed and returned promptly.

This visit is an excellent way for students to discover their interests and learn about pathways that align with their goals. If you have any questions about the visit or the programs, feel free to reach out!

Linked below you will find information about Riverview Opportunity Center (ROC) and the Area Technology Center (ATC). Students may apply for these programs once that application is open.

Archery: Before the snowstorm of 2025 hit, the BMS Archery Team delivered an incredible performance at the Bullitt Lick tournament, taking home the first-place team trophy! The boys claimed individual awards for 4th and 5th place, while the girls achieved an amazing clean sweep, earning 1st through 5th place trophies! Way to go, Archers—your hard work is paying off!

Looking ahead, the team will compete in a 3D tournament at J-Town High School next weekend. Let’s wish them the best of luck! Additionally, the tournament originally scheduled for this weekend at BMS has been rescheduled to March 21-22. Mark your calendars!

Boys' Basketball: As with many activities this week, the game scheduled for January 6 at Whitfield Academy was canceled due to the weather. We’re working hard to finalize a make-up date—stay tuned!

Next up, the team will face Little Flock on Friday, January 17. Let’s pack the stands and cheer them on as they aim for a strong finish to the season!

Cheer: Our phenomenal Cheer Squad is training tirelessly for the upcoming national competition at Disney this February. Their dedication and spirit light up every practice. Keep soaring high, ladies—we're rooting for you!
