2/10/17

Dear BMS Community,

Bernheim students are working very hard and are being celebrated around the district this month.  BMS artwork is being displayed at the BCPS central office this month and looks wonderful.  We have many talented students.  We hosted several teachers through a district wide PD this past week and they had the opportunity to observe our 6th, 7th and 8th graders being outstanding learners engaging in high levels of thinking.

8th grade students took part in the reality store wherein they learned a bit about financial literacy.  Some were shocked at how much it will cost just to live a simple life.  Thank you Ms. Tara Davis for organizing this for students, thank you David Littlejohn from the 4H extension office.  Also, thank you to Mr. Tommy Alvey and his BC students for facilitating the event for our 8th graders.

We want you to know we provide many opportunities to support students academically here at BMS.  We provide additional Reading and Math support on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, if you would like your student to participate in Mission Math or Reading Cafe please contact Kim Newton (ESS coordinator) kimberly.newton@bullitt.kyschools.us.   Students also have the chance to stay for general academic support on Wednesday or Thursday weekly. If you believe your student is falling behind please contact us and we will help place them in the appropriate after school support system.
