It has been a fantastic week in Bruin Nation. Students are learning about the War of 1812 and using Google Maps to enhance their learning! Students are writing and reading poetry of their own creation in the 6th grade. Math students are working on real world problems learning how to give each other feedback (which is hard to do sometimes) 8th grade science students are learning the power of clean water. Students in the 6th grade are designing and inventing their own sport along with the rules of their game. BLMS visited BMS to work together on the Central Area Concert Music. It has been a busy week and Bruin Nation is Game On! 
You are invited to BMS, Thursday, March 15th from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. for our STUDENT SHOWCASE & STUDENT LED CONFERENCE EVENING. We will have dinner and celebrate BMS Students. We will have Art throughout the building, there will be music from our band students. The book fair will be going on and we will have much student work throughout the building! Students will also be sharing with their parents what we are calling a "student portfolio". This will include Grades, Measure of Academic Progress results, their own goals and the students favorite pieces they want to share with you. Students can also show you how they use google classroom. We hope this will be a great evening for you and your child. You MUST sign up for the Student Led Conference time, as there will only be room for 15 students and parents per room at a time. Their homeroom teacher will be available to assist as needed. (see link below) We hope you and your student will join us for this great evening celebrating BMS students and their ability to grow, set goals and be successful. We look forward to seeing you there!
