Last Edition of BMS News Bytes for 2019-2020. Celebrations, Information and Updates

Dear Bernheim Community,

It has certainly been a year to remember! This is the last official BMS NewsBytes of this school year.  Thank you for all you do for your students and our future!  The two posts below each have important information.  I have linked them both below again for ease of access.

REPORT CARD LETTER FROM DISTRICT
Report Card Letter from Assistant Superintendent Adrienne Usher(linked).  The district has worked to create a system where students' grades would not be negatively impacted by the COVID 19 virus, global pandemic state of emergency.  Please read the letter and know that we have your students best interest in mind at all times.  Parent Portal will be open to see report cards on May 20th.  This gives teachers time to process student's standings for the year.  Thank you for your understanding.

8th Grade Virtual Promotion Ceremony will post to Facebook and in Google Classrooms at 10:00 am on May 11th.

  • We will have a staff member answering phones remotely during the times listed above starting May 26th.
  • Phones will not be answered from June 25-July 9th.  The phones will then be answered again during office hours starting on July 10th.
  • Please be patient with us as we navigate through these uncharted waters this summer.

The BMS Spring Renaissance Rally did not get to happen this spring. The Renaissance Rally is a time to celebrate student success and allow students to have fun.  Though the celebrations didn't happen this year teachers still each picked two BE BOLD pin winners. These students stood out among the rest for a variety of reasons, all connected to the Bruin Way,  and the teachers wanted to celebrate them.

We picked 6 more Bruin Excellence Award winners too. This award is very prestigious and we are so proud of these students.  Go Bruins! Thank you for your hard work this semester!

BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, please favorite this blog and check it frequently. BMS Class Highlights contains each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites which are extremely useful to both students and parents.

Please don't hesitate to communicate with your student's teachers. The best way to get in touch with them is through their school email.  All emails are listed on the school website. Please feel free to check in with teachers as they are happy to hear from you and want to help any way they can.

It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.

Please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We also have @hentryclaytime on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. We want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

We miss you and we hope to see you soon!
