Back to School! August 2nd, 2021 We are So Excited!

Dear Bernheim Community,

Back to School is right around the corner.  We are so excited to have all of Bruin Nation back in the house. As of this draft, masks are not required but are suggested for those who have not been vaccinated.   Most school procedures are similar to pre-Covid times.  BCPS will send out information and notification if things change, thank you for your understanding.   If you have any questions please feel free to call us.

Back To School Night:

Student schedules will be available through Infinite Campus the morning of August 6th.  We will have paper schedules available at Back to School Night August 5th from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Advisory lists will be posted in the Gymnasium and parents and students can find their advisory teacher, go to that classroom, get their schedule, and walk around and meet their teachers.   Back to School Night is a wonderful meet and greet time for students, parents and teachers. We are so glad we are able to do this again.  It is a "come and go" evening so if you can't be here at 5:30 that is not a problem, doors won't close until 7:15 pm.  No need to bring your supplies this night, just wait until school starts. We look forward to seeing everyone in person! 

Supply Lists, Forms and School Fees:

The BMS School Fee and the Chromebook Leasing Fee MAY be paid through MySchoolBucks online payment center. Please Click Here.  Checks or money orders can be made out to BMS and can be turned in with the completed First Day of School paperwork that will be collected by Advisory teachers the first week of school.  Students will need to have those forms turned in so that they can receive their lockers during the second week of school. 

Student Supply Lists are posted on the school website, here on the blog and have gone out through Facebook.  Students are encouraged to carry small cinch bags from class to class for their belongings and we are allowing clear, reusable water bottles, with screw on lids (no straws please) for students to use.    

Chromebook Information:   All students will receive BMS First Day of School Folders which will go home with students and will contain forms that must be completed and returned to school.  In the first day folder there will be a BCPS T.R.U.E. form that must be completed by all students and their guardians and returned to school along with the yearly leasing fee.  The forms and fees must be taken care of so that 6th grade students may receive a Chromebook for use and so that 7th and 8th grade students will be able to have continued access to the internet. Sixth Grade Bruin Cubs will receive their Chromebooks during the first week of school once all forms and fees are processed.

BMS is a Title 1 School participating in the CEP program.  All students receive breakfast and lunch at no charge for the time being. As the lunch forms come home please do fill those out even if you wish to decline (simply write declined) or if you feel you would not qualify, by filling those out you are helping others who may truly need the benefit to continue on past the pandemic.  We appreciate your help in helping others.
