Jan 24-Jan 28th BMS NEWSBYTES: News Updates and Celebrations

Dear Bernheim Community,

It has been a great week for BMS students! Our Cubs STEM team took 2nd place in the BCPS STEM Challenge.  Ella Fightmaster and Autumn Thorpe represented BMS well! Way to go!!  Our BMS Academic Quick Recall Team came in 3rd in the district Governor's Cup competition and had a great showing!  We can’t wait to see what they will do next year!

PTSA

Thank you to the PTSA for facilitating our special election for a parent SBDM Member. Congratulations to Teresa Fightmaster for being elected! We are greatly looking forward to working with her as the year progresses!

The PTSA will be starting a fundraiser in the next couple of weeks.  They will be selling Domino's Pizza Slice the Price cards. Every time you purchase a large pizza at Domino’s, you will receive a large pizza FREE!

The cost of the card is just $15, which is around the price of a large pizza, so if you use the card just one time, it pays for itself! You can use the card as many times as you would like until the card expires. You are able to use the card for multiple purchases. For example: buy 10 pizzas and get 10 more pizzas FREE!  Stay tuned for more information that will be coming home with students soon.

ATTENDANCE

It’s that time of year where there are many more cases of flu, strep and those “it’s just a virus” as well as continued cases of COVID.  Please be sure that if your child is out sick that you send in a parent note or a doctor note to excuse their absence.

While it would be wonderful to have Bruins at school each day, they need to be well.   BCPS has a 24 hour fever free guideline that should be followed before sending your student back to school. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact our front office staff.   (502)869-4000

Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher webpages which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
