September 19-September 23| BMS Newsbytes: News, Updates and Celebrations

 Dear Bernheim Community,

What a great week in Bruin Nation! Next week will be busy with CASE testing and our Annual Title 1 Be A Bruin Night! Come on out and join us Sept 21 at 5:30 pm. We will be serving BBQ Chicken until we run out! You will meet your student’s Advisory teachers and join students for a few classes.  We love the connection we have with parents and our school community and we can’t wait to see you all.

So far BMS students have raised $864 for the Ugandan Water Project.  As they work through the book  A Long Walk to Water students are making connections and gaining understanding in a global perspective.  The understanding of what a great country we live in really comes to life when students learn about different places around the world.

BMS has a goal of raising $3600 and we only have $2736 more to go!  Once we reach our goal, the Louisville Water company will MATCH it.  More families will be served because of OUR school community.  Students will receive information on the communities they are helping so they can see the difference they and you are making for others.   Please help out by clicking the link below.

6TH AND 7TH WORKED HARD.

Which House is Winning This week? BMS  has a house system that is based on students' year of graduation.  Each house can earn points based on areas that are linked to the Bruin Way.  Points are earned by the percentage of the house on the honor roll, free from referrals, attendance, school spirit, showing responsibility for yourself and others,  participation in community service, random acts of kindness, and more!

Our leaders of the Month for August.  We are so Proud of these students! These Students lead by example inside and outside of school! We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see all they will do in their future!

Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
