1/16/24-1/19/24 : BMS Newsbytes| News, Information and Updates! NTI, Yearbooks, Ren Rally and More!

Dear Bernheim Community,

What a week! BMS students and staff continue to be amazing.  Construction has
been but a blip in their path and if you have seen the school passing by, you know that is saying something! Between the dust and the noise everyone is doing a great job adapting and seeing the vision for a beautiful Bernheim Middle School! SBDM enjoyed a tour of the new spaces to check them out.  It is looking good!

The Winter Renaissance Rally is right around the corner! Students who have earned A’s, Bs, and even Cs and have remained referral free will get to participate throughout the day as either Gold, Silver or Bronze status card earners. All students will get to participate in the end of the day celebration.  Please continue to encourage your student to do the right thing, work hard and do their best in all they do.  The goal is always for 100% of our students to earn a Ren Card.  Friday’s theme is BMS Through the ERAs.  It is a Spirit day for all see the promo!

We don’t have very many people who have ordered yearbooks yet and the price increases at the end of February! Please get one while the price is an early bird price!

SNOW DAY/NTI

We can’t predict the weather, but we can predict there may be a day of weather causing the district to go into NTI.  Below is the schedule for such a day.  We have students starting at 9:00 am and being done by 11:00 am so that they can go outside and play in the snow. (If we get any) Please be sure your student is up and online.  We will be taking attendance on NTI days and as long as students are in attendance the state will count the day! You won’t have to make it up at the end of the year.  Please make sure your students are up, Chromebooks ready, and ready to go!

DRESS WARM!

It has been pretty chilly in the halls from time to time.  Please have your students dressed warmly and dress in layers so that they can adjust to a variety of room temperatures.  Layers, layers, layers!

Speaking of staying warm, if your student needs a winter coat and you need help, please reach out to Katrina Haydon BMS YSC at katrina.haydon@bullitt.kyschools.us for assistance.  We are here to help and want to provide what students need to be successful.

 Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @henryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
