2/26/24-3/1/24. BMS Newsbytes: News, Celebrations and Updates!

Dear Bernheim Community,

This week we will complete our last round of Pathway to Proficiency testing (ELS). MONDAY is reading and THURSDAY is math.  Students must have their charged chromebook at school Monday morning. They need to bring their chargers to school as well.  Be sure students are well rested and ready to work hard! We are proud of BMS students. This is their time to shine! After this round of testing there will be the Big Kahuna test KSA beginning April 29th. The Kentucky Summative Assessment is the most important assessment of the school year. We are excited for BMS students to take this assessment to show how much they have grown and how incredibly bright they are. Students are always required to show Excellent Work Ethic on all they do!

BMS students are extraordinary! They are smart, kind and creative.  Spring is around the corner and students might be starting to forget how important it is to follow the Bruin Way from time to time.  Please remind students to always Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, Be Here and Be Bold in Kindness, Courage and Excellent Work Ethic.  Behavior Contracts are going home, the Grizzlies’ contract has already gone out, the Cubs and Bears are coming home soon.  Students must be eligible to participate in the end of year activities.  Receiving an office referral can result in consequences and loss of privileges.  Unfortunately field trip fees can’t be refunded if students become ineligible as the funds go to businesses to pay for the trip and we can’t get the funds back from the companies we pay them to.  It is important that students follow school rules and expectations and remain eligible.  Thank you for encouraging your students to always do their best!

The last chance to ORDER your BMS YEARBOOK is this weekend!!! We only have a few days left. $25 LINK TO ORDER YEARBOOKS

Which House is Winning This week? BMS  has a house system that is based on students' year of graduation.  Each house can earn points based on areas that are linked to the Bruin Way.  Points are earned by the percentage of the house on the honor roll, free from referrals, attendance, school spirit, showing responsibility for yourself and others,  participation in community service, random acts of kindness, and more!

 Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @henryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
