April 8th - April 12th BMS NewsBytes! We will see you all tomorrow April 9th! We missed you!

 Dear Bernheim Community,

We hope everyone had a great Spring Break and that you are rested and ready to finish strong!  Students will be back in school tomorrow Tuesday April 9th, 2024 and we are going to be working toward doing excellent on the Big Kahuna KSA test at the end of April.  


There will be a student dance on Friday April 12th from 3:05-4:30 pm, this dance is a fundraiser to go toward end of the year activities.  Students must be passing all classes and eligible based on behavior. The cost of this last school wide Spring Dance is $5.00.  


STUDENT SHOWCASE OF LEARNING 

Join us for the Student Showcase of Learning (Title 1 Parent Night) April 16th. We will have Bootleg BBQ, and more! There will be cafe music from our band and choir students, student-led conferences highlight their growth in the graduate profile competencies and student work in classrooms.  Food will be served from 6:00-6:30, there will be KONA Ice and Tom’s Traveling Coffee Truck as well! We look forward to seeing you all there! 


 TRANSPORTATION CHANGES?? 

 If you need to make a change to transportation during the day, call the school prior to 2:30 pm and then send in a transportation change note to Ms Jennifer Vittitoe jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us You must call in to speak with someone and a written note will be required.


COUNSELOR’S CORNER

8th Grade Students interested in applying to the ATC (Area Technology Center) that application is now open for the 2024-2025 school year. The application can be found here.


Applications are also open for the CRC (Career Readiness Center) at Riverview Opportunity Center. The application can be found here.

BMS CLASS HIGHLIGHTS

Please visit the BMS Class Highlights, teachers will be updating all the class goings on this week! (linked here)  You will find teachers' websites linked along with a brief update of what is going on in class.   Teachers have linked materials, resources and items they use in class.  The number one way to stay on top of your student's progress is through the infinite campus/parent portal. (log on page linked) We are here to support your student and family in any way we can, please feel free to reach out. 

ATHLETES : Please know that student athletes are held to a high standard.  Their grades and conduct will be checked weekly.  Students must be passing all classes to play for BMS as well be in good standing with their conduct.  If you have questions about athletics please contact BMS Athletic Director james.carnes@bullitt.kyschools.us 


Archery - The archery team shot in the state tournament over the break.  They placed 2nd in 3D and 4th in Bullseye.  Great job archers!!  They will shoot this weekend at Bullitt East. 


Baseball- The baseball team gets back in action this week with a game Thursday vs. Mt. Washington.  Game starts @ 6:00 at the Mt. Washington Sports Complex.  


Softball - The ladies have their first game tonight, Monday 4/8, against Eastside @ 7:30.  That game will be played at the Mt. Washington Sports Complex.  Good luck ladies. 


Track - The track team  will practice Wednesday - Friday this week (weather permitting).  They will also participate in a track meet 4/13 at North Bullitt. Good luck.

Which House is Winning This week? BMS  has a house system that is based on students' year of graduation.  Each house can earn points based on areas that are linked to the Bruin Way.  Points are earned by the percentage of the house on the honor roll, free from referrals, attendance, school spirit, showing responsibility for yourself and others,  participation in community service, random acts of kindness, and more!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @henryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
