Welcome to a new school year! The BMS mission is "Every Student, Every Day"- and this means we will work tirelessly to help each student excel in every way possible. We strive to create an environment in which we are all working toward and leading others to become Distinguished by Excellence. Thank you for coming to the BMS Back to School Night open house, it was a huge success. If you were unable to attend your student will be assisted by teachers and staff who will direct them and help them find their way on the first day of school. Drop off procedures and bus procedures are the same this year as they were last year.
Wednesday August 9th is the first day of school. Students do NOT need to bring their Chromebooks on Wednesday. Teachers will provide instructions regarding the Chromebooks and other First Day information on Wednesday August 9th. Students will receive a packet of information which they will be bringing home on the first day of school. Please read through it carefully and sign all required forms to be returned the next day. If you need assistance with this please feel free to call school and we will do our best to help you.
BCPS is happy to bring our 1:1 initiative to middle schools this year. Each student will be required to complete a Digital Drivers License (DDL). This is a great tool for teaching students internet safety and responsibility. Even if your student has their own device they will need to complete this on-line training by August 25th. If they do not complete the DDL by that date they will not be able access the internet from school. We will guide students and provide some time here at school, however, students may begin working on the Digital Drivers License now. Please visit the BCPS Access24 site for instructions and guidance. (linked) Students who were unable to attend the Chromebook Roll-out in July will be receiving information explaining the procedure to obtain the Chromebook once school has started.
