Fantastic First Week!

Dear Bruin Nation,

Welcome Back! Wow! it has been a fantastic start to the school year! The students look absolutely fabulous  and have been excited to get back in the swing of things all week! Speaking of looking fabulous we are starting "DRESS SHARP" Mondays this year! We would like students to come to school on Monday dressed for success! Every Friday this year will be a BMS Spirit day.  We are encouraging students to be proud to be a part of Bruin Nation and want to let them show their school spirit!  Look for more information on Spirit Wear soon! Go Bruins!

This school year brings some new faces to the BMS teaching staff: Mr. Tim Anderson, Ms. Ashley Ashley and Ms. Destiney Amiott are great additions to our staff! Please visit their teacher websites to see more information, we are thrilled they are part of our team!

Not only do we have new staff we also have new opportunities for students.  We have begun the Project Lead the Way science and engineering program here at BMS.  This is a nationally recognized program bringing innovative experiences to BMS students. We will also be beginning a KYA/KUNA club this year, sponsored by Mr. Tim Anderson. This club provides students the opportunity to learn about how government works and how they might be able to make a difference in the world.

Bernheim MIddle School continues the drive to be Distinguished by Excellence- Every Student, Every Day. Please see below for information and upcoming events!

Cheerleading Tryouts are 8/17 from 3-5pm, Remember, you must have a KHSAA physical on file to try-out for any sport.

Chromebooks: IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND THE Chromebook rollout- students must have all BCPS paperwork signed and turned in with the $35 Fee or the Waiver Form by Monday.  We will be distributing Chromebooks Wednesday and Thursday during school to those who don’t have them yet-However we do have to have the above mentioned items.

Paperwork: All other paperwork should be turned in to students' homeroom teachers, along with the $15 school fee or Waiver. The general school fee combines several fees we used to ask for separately. This year we have simply combined them, they include the Art Fee, the Tech/Media fee and it also includes a science/STEM/PLTW consumable fee. Thank you to those of you who have already turned everything in we truly appreciate how smoothly the BMS Community has transitioned into the school year.

Please know we are here to serve you and your student. We are excited to be a part of their lives and and your life. We know these years are some of the best and some of the most challenging as students change so much in the tween years. Please let us know what we can do to support you and your child.

As always, thank you for your support we are looking forward to working together as we create wonderful experiences for your student. Please check out our webpage, follow us on Facebook, like us on Twitter, sign up for eNews, sign up for Remind and favorite BMS News Bytes. Use teacher websites as well, they are a great tool for communication and resources. If you have questions please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or myself, we are all happy to help in anyway we can.

Game On Bruin Nation! It's going to be an OUTSTANDING year!
