Dear Bernheim Community,
What a wonderful week it was in Bruin Nation! Thank you so much for supporting BMS and your students in their learning! There are so many wonderful things happening! Math students in the Bears House will be preparing presentations of their food truck proposals for the Mayor of Shepherdsville next week! Cubs have served as travel agents for BMS staff and will be presenting their financial information for the proposed trips next week too! Unit Rate, Ratios and proportions and more!
HOLIDAY SPIRIT CONTINUES!
BMS is continuing to gather food items to support the Turnaround Center in LJ. So many people in the local community utilize the LJ Turnaround Center. We have gathered 300+ items to date, we are hoping for 10 times that amount by the end of the Food Drive. Ask your student about the Community Contributor work they are doing this season through their advisory.
MIDYEAR ASSESSMENTS
Students will be testing in Math in ELS testing this week, we had to postpone the Math assessment and moved it to MONDAY 12/11/23. Students need to do their absolute best. This data determines their opportunity for a variety of course work and classes and showing best effort on assessments will be used as part of their eligibility for the Bruin Bash on 12/19/23. Students need to have their Chromebooks and chargers, and Chromebooks need to be charged when they get to school.

Which House is Winning This week? BMS has a house system that is based on students' year of graduation. Each house can earn points based on areas that are linked to the Bruin Way. Points are earned by the percentage of the house on the honor roll, free from referrals, attendance, school spirit, showing responsibility for yourself and others, participation in community service, random acts of kindness, and more!

Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!
We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school. Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected. Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We also have @henryclaytime on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
