BMS Welcome Back!!
August 6th!
WE ARE SO EXCITED! SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:00 AM!

AUGUST 6th, First Day Spirit Day! We can’t wait to see each and every Bruin! You are invited to dress like a Rock Star or wear your favorite band t-shirt (As always, be school appropriate) . YOU ALL ARE ROCK STARS!
Morning Car Riders
Morning Car riders pull to the front sidewalk in a single line in the morning and drop off students anywhere on the sidewalk. Ms. Bush will be out there to direct! Students can be dropped off starting at 7:40 am. We will be there to greet them and welcome them into school showing them where to go!
Thank you for letting us serve your family.
I know some parents would love to come in with your student, please know that simply isn’t possible with 400 kids trying to get them where they need to be on the first day of school. However, we DO want everyone to come and check us out on Back to School Night, August 13th. Tuesday morning give your student a hug and a kiss and let us take it from there! We are ready and so excited to welcome each student!
Bus Riders, You need the new Stopfinder App! (linked) This is how you will find your bus stop, time for pick up and more! Each family received an email invite to the app from the district on July 11th, you need to accept that invite. Call the BCPS Transportation Dept if you need that resent their number is 502-869-8031. We will help students confirm their PM bus numbers during the school day for the first couple of days!
Schedules: We will get them their schedules and support them each step of the way! Student schedules will be available in Infinite Campus on August 5th for a sneak peak!
Lunch: We can’t wait for you to see the new cafe! Students may bring their lunch, the school provides breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students. We do however need each family to fill out the HIF form so we can continue to provide meals to our students at no cost.
Afternoon Car Rider Procedures
In the afternoon, cars are to line up in TWO lines pulled all the way up to the front of the sidewalk. Students will exit in waves through the cafe doors. Once the wave is complete cars will be directed to exit by staff.
EACH student will get a car rider tag on day one of school. Starting day two of school, if you are picking your student up please have the tag displayed in the front dash of your car.
AM and PM car rider procedures are different. Please listen to and pay attention to the adults directing the process.
SBDM
We are in need of a parent member for SBDM. We will be holding a special election 8/13. Please email Mrs. Stephens if you are interested.
Chromebooks, Fees, and More
Bears and Grizzlies have their Chromebooks, Cubs will get theirs soon. Remember each year there is a $35 fee for technology and a $20 school fee to pay for all the many consumables we use in science, art, career etc.. All fees can be paid through the new school app called SchoolCashOnline. It is linked here. https://bullittschools.schoolcashonline.com/

Please download the BCPS app so you can stay up to date on all things BCPS, once you do you will be a part of Rooms! It is the new classroom communication tool BCPS and BMS are using. Once you download the BCPS app and log in you will see how it works! Rooms allows you to communicate with your students’ teachers easily, see lesson plans, receive announcements and more! Download and log in to the BCPS app, Rooms is a part of that app!
Infinite Campus is your number one tool to seeing grades update and attendance. Please make sure your preferences are correct!

BMS Newsbytes goes out weekly and we will have BMS Class Highlights included.
