Dear Bernheim Community,
Next week, we’ll be taking the PATHWAY TO PROFICIENCY assessments: Reading on Monday and Math on Wednesday. These assessments play a key role in determining class placements for both this year and next. It’s an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth, and we encourage them to approach these tests with a strong work ethic and a commitment to doing their best.
Please remind your student to come to school with a fully charged Chromebook and their charger each day. We have very few extra chargers available, and being fully prepared will help them perform at their best.
Thank you for supporting a mindset of excellence and helping your student succeed!
This week, Dr. Bacon visited BMS and had the opportunity to see our students engaged in impressive, hands-on learning! He observed Ms. Clack’s Cubs science class, where students were applying the Design Process to build cars that could protect an egg from unbalanced forces. Dr. Bacon also toured several other classrooms, witnessing authentic learning in action across the school. We are grateful for the continued support from the BCPS leadership team!
Community Contributor Food Drive
📣 Calling All Bruins! 🐻💙
On Monday, we kicked off our 2nd Annual Community Contributor Food Drive to support the Lebanon Junction Turnaround Center! 🛒✨
Last year, our amazing community donated 1,244 items—let’s beat that this year with a goal of 1,500 items! 💪
📍 How to Donate:
➡️ Send non-perishable food items in with your student
➡️ Drop them off at school between 8 AM and 3 PM
Donations will be accepted now through December 19.
COUNSELOR’S CORNER
Attention 8th Grade Grizzlies Families,
On Thursday, our 8th-grade students met with counselors and students from Bullitt Central High School. On Friday, they received their High School Scheduling forms. Students were asked to complete these forms and bring them home for parents to review over the weekend.
Please ensure these forms are signed and returned on Monday. Bullitt Central requires all forms to be turned in by Thursday, December 9th.
I will be meeting with students throughout the week to answer any questions they may have. This is an exciting milestone as our students begin planning for their high school journey and future goals.
Thank you for your support during this important time!
Linked here is a copy of the scheduling form in the event your student did not bring theirs home.
Linked below you will find information about Riverview Opportunity Center (ROC) and the Area Technology Center (ATC). Students may apply for these programs once that application is open (typically in January).

If you have any questions or need counseling support, please feel free to email amy.bush@bullitt.kyschools.us.
ATTENDANCE
A missed school day is a lost learning opportunity. Students with regular attendance tend to achieve at higher levels. We understand that sickness happens, but if possible, please schedule appointments outside of school hours. If your child must miss, please provide a note on the day they return. Students are allowed six parent notes per year; after that, a doctor’s note is required for excused absences. For attendance questions, contact Mrs. Vittitoe at jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us or 869-4000.
When signing out a student, please bring a picture ID or driver’s license.
