Therapy Dog for BMS

Dear BMS Community,

There are many articles in recent publications providing evidence and research data supporting the fact that the right pet can have an overall positive impact on a school.  BMS currently has a Therapy Pup in training.  He has proven to be as star student as he is being trained by veterinarian Dr. Chris Albert.  Dr. Albert has many many years experience training both Therapy dogs and Service Animals.   We are thankful for her efforts in training not only the dog, but the people.

Henry Clay Clermont Stephens is a hypoallergenic Goldendoodle with a very sweet disposition.  It will be a few more months before he can be around large groups of students.  For now, his interactions are limited to adults and a few students here and there.  Ms. Smith, BMS counselor, has seen the impacts of therapy animals first hand on students who are experiencing great distress.  She is a large part of the Therapy Dog service here at BMS and knows it will have an overall positive impact on students.

If for some reason you do not want your student to interact with Henry Clay (Therapy Dog) please contact Ms. Karen Smith.  karen.smith@bullitt.kyschools.us .

Please let us know if  you have any questions we will be happy to answer them.
