Feb 25-Mar 1- Updates, Celebrations Students of the Week and More!

Dear BMS Community,

Students are working hard to master standards across the board! In Math class, Science, Stem, ELA and Social Studies you will find students working on extraordinary things.  Our Unified Art students are creating art, playing sports, interpreting music and learning foreign languages. BMS students have such wonderful opportunities and we know they are growing into responsible 21st Century Citizens.

Speaking of becoming 21st Century Citizens, BMS PTSA is the proud recipient of the FACEBOOK Digital Citizenship grant.  Only TWO PTSA's in the entire state were chosen and BMS PTSA rocked it out and was one of them! Congratulations.

BMS PTSA will be hosting the "Connected Take Charge of your Digital Life" night for parents and students.  In this age of technology it is so important that you and your student can talk about technology and the "forever factor" of the Internet.

Please join us MARCH 18 from 5:30- 7:00 pm in the Bernheim Cafe for a night of sharing in learning about the tech world!! There will be snacks, door prizes and great opportunity to learn with your kids! House Points for each student that shows up with their parent!

Attendance Matters:
Attendance has been horrible as of late.  We know there has been so many germs going around we are doing everything we can to stop the spread here.  Please remind students of healthy habits, let's get them well and get them back in school. The CDC reports that the flu vaccine has been approximately 60% effective on various strains of the flu.  So please consider the benefits of a flu shot. LASTLY, please make sure your student has all vaccinations including all rounds of the HEP A (see below).

IMMUNIZATION ROUND TWO -URGENT!!!
We have sent home letters and are sending out daily phone calls to students who MUST have the second round of HEP A shots.  PLEASE get those in or students will be excluded from school. The deadline is coming up!   Please listen to ALL phone messages from BCPS and BMS you might be missing out on critical information.  As much as we want your child to be at school (AND WE DO), those immunizations have to be taken care of, thank  you in advance for making that happen!
