KPREP MAY 13, 14! --Updates, Celebrations and More...

Dear Bernheim Community,

What a great week for BMS! This week we had our 2nd Annual Student Showcase that was even better than last year's event.  This year we combined it with the Spring Concert and we had a great turn out! Congratulations to all the students who played, sang and presented on Tuesday night. We are so proud of you!

Teachers and staff want to thank the BMS PTSA, parents and the entire school community for the genuine appreciation that was showered on BMS this week! We are honored to serve Bernheim families and are so grateful for all of your support!

We had our annual KPREP rally and started the state KPREP testing this week and if our attendance is an indicator of success we are doing great! We had between 97-99% for both days of testing and we are hoping for 100% attendance for Monday and Tuesday!  Remember to BE HERE, and BE Bold in Excellent Work Ethic- it is all part of the Bruin Way! We are GAME ON Bruin Nation!

Don't forget to have your student do the following each day of testing: (May 13,14)
  • Get a Good Night's Rest
  • Eat a good Breakfast
  • Focus
  • Do their Best- all the time
  • Be here on time each day of testing. (Avoid make up testing sessions)
Thank you for your support as we work hard to help students reach beyond their potential.

Attendance Matters:
Attendance Matters:
Be Here! Show Up! It matters! Here in Bruin Nation we are instilling in students the importance of having excellent work ethic. Research evidence states that students who are chronically absent fall several grade levels behind causing them to play "catch up" for years.  BMS believes each student can be successful, we strive daily to support each student.  Each day missed is a day a student falls behind. On top of academic success we have fun incentives for attendance; Game Day, Walkabouts , Sit Anywhere Days and more.  Attendance is part of the Work Ethic Certification program and is something the R.O.C. and BAMS program look at to determine admission so, show up, be here, it matters.
