Dear Bernheim Community,
This week started with MAP testing and then a huge Bruin Bash. We collected chromebooks and chargers on Wednesday so if you still see those at home send them in please. We had our annual BMS Talent Show and it was amazing! Check out Facebook for videos and more! The Cubs Teacher Dance Troupe is pretty impressive! Congratulations to the winners! Sarah White, Adam Cecil and Kayla Dunn! Such talented young performers!
The Grizzlies went on their 8th grade field trip while our Bears promoted kindness with a service project and later in the day a dodgeball tournament. The Cubs had their annual field day and took a trip to Bernheim to see the giants.
The Bears Kindness Project is an exciting event teachers planned to provide the students opportunity to serve others. We are so proud of those students, who cleaned, created, served and chose to be kind! At BMS we are working to promote kindness daily, these kids rocked it out! You would think that would be all we could do in one week, but not true! We also had our Spring Renaissance Rally on Friday. This student celebration is for students with all A's , Gold Status, A's and B's, Silver Status, Bronze Status A's, B's one C OR perfect attendance for May. (excluding students who might be failing a class)- of course behavior is considered to be eligible as well. We had approximately 300 students participating and all students participated at the end of the day! We are so proud of BMS Students! We have one more week with them, but we are already missing them!
If the question was asked how much can BMS pack into one week I would say BMS stepped up to the challenge and has been rocking it! I would like to give a huge shout out to the teachers and parents that have made the last two weeks of school amazing for students. There are too many teachers and parents to name each one, but just know that teachers, staff and parents at BMS care deeply for your child and are working very hard to make their experience a great one!

The Spring Renaissance Rally is the biggest student celebration of the year. During this event students are honored for their hard work. Gold, Silver and Bronze status winners enjoy a day of fun and celebrations. Part of the celebrations includes the presentation of Be Bold Pins and the Bruin Excellence Awards. Each teacher chooses a boy and a girl student who has shown up and stood out during the semester. Each of the students listed below has earned a Be Bold Pin for the spring semester!

The most coveted award of the year goes to the Bruin Excellence Award winners. These students have been amazing in all that they do inside and outside of school. This award signifies a student who exemplifies excellence in academics, behavior, attendance, leadership and character. These students are not only outstanding during school but are also involved in extracurricular activities and illustrate vibrant school spirit. The award can only be earned once in their middle school career and will be recognized again at their 8th grade promotion ceremony. It is truly an honor and distinguishes these students from all others.

Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.
