November 16-November 20: News, Updates and Student Celebrations

Dear Bernheim Community,

Happy Friday! We hope that everyone is well. Thank you for all you have done in support of your student's learning.  We know it has been a challenge and we are so grateful for everyone in the Bernheim Middle School community.  This week we mailed home report cards, case data and a variety of other items.  Please be looking for that in the mail; you may also look up your students first quarter grades on Parent Portal.  Please feel free to call us if you have any questions or need assistance.
November 11th, 2020 was Veterans Day.  We celebrated with a virtual ceremony led by several BMS CEO students.  This was shared in Advisory classes and on Facebook.  We are very proud of our students and their reverent spirit as they honored our Veterans.  Please join this Navy wife, mom and daughter in expressing gratitude to all who served for keeping us the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

REMOTE LEARNING CONTINUES AT LEAST TO THANKSGIVING

Per Dr. Bacon's Communication BCPS will still be in Remote learning until Thanksgiving and possibly the week after.  Hopefully, the Covid-19 numbers will begin to decrease and we can start the hybrid model in December.  We know this has been a challenge for everyone and we can't wait to see students in the building again!

BCPS Learning Model Selection Form for the second semester was sent out to all families on Monday November 9th.  It was also posted on the BMS Facebook page and sent out via Infinite Campus.  Just to be double sure you get it, it is also linked here.  ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS COMPLETED.  IF THERE ARE MULTIPLE STUDENTS IN THE HOUSEHOLD THEY EACH NEET THE FORM COMPLETED FOR THEM.

Academic Support :
Academic Support will be on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:00-4:30 pm for students who are currently in need of extra support. Letters went home with report cards this week and the Academic support teachers will begin contacting by phone, email or text each parent of the students who were invited.  For now, while we are remote we are only offering 'Virtual' Academic support for students.  Once we are in-person again we will be able to offer both options.   Please contact us if you have questions.

Wednesday Support letters went home with Report Cards.  If you received one of the Wonderful Wednesday support invitations please note that program won't actually begin until we are in-person on the Hybrid Schedule.  Anyone involved with the Wednesday program will receive further information as we learn more regarding in-person learning schedule. Again, the Wednesday program begins once we are in-person and on the Hybrid schedule.  Please call the school if you have any questions.

As always we are always happy to help in anyway
we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.
BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, please favorite this website. BMS Class Highlights is each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
