Feb 15-Feb 19: News, Updates and Student Celebrations

Dear Bernheim Community,

We want to take a minute to celebrate a quiet hero at BMS. The Family Resource Youth Service Center folks do so many things for students and families behind the scenes to help them be successful.  Our FRYSC is Tiffany Jenkins and she is a rock star, she is constantly thinking of ways to serve students and families.  She doesn't ask for recognition or pats on the back, but this week is a great time to simply say thank you to Ms. Jenkins for all you do.  We appreciate you!

BMS CARES CHALLENGE 2020-2021

"Be Bold in Kindness" is a part of what we do at BMS.  This week is National Random Act of Kindness week, we are happy to announce we will be having another community challenge, though this time it is called BMS Cares and it is promoting Random Act of Kindness Week 2020-2021! We hope you will join us in paying it forward!

The form to submit your entries is linked here, remember any prize you receive comes with a gift for YOU to pay it forward to someone else!
Be Bold in Kindness Bruin Nation!

Please contact Ms. Amy Bush or Ms. Tiffany Jenkins with questions.

Hopefully Mother Nature won't disrupt our schedule this week, but ... well, it is looking a little sketchy.  If we end up in the path of a major snow storm stay tuned to local news channels for announcements and make sure you have set IC up to send you notifications!

If we are in Remote Learning for Hybrid students need to be up and in advisory by 8:00 am.  Their assignments will drop early in the day so they can work at their own pace and get help from their teachers. Teachers are available on the regular @Home Help Desk schedule.

Bullitt Cloud Academy Students, you all keep on your regular schedule UNLESS it is a traditional snow day, then there is no school for you.

If the storm misses us completely, Awesome Students (A-day) we will see you at BMS Monday and Tuesday. Brilliant Students (B-day) we will see you at BMS Thursday and Friday.  REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER, THERE IS NO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY.

Again, There is NO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2021 FOR STUDENTS!

DURING AT HOME LEARNING PLEASE MAKE SURE TO UTILIZE YOUR TEACHERS!
THEY WANT TO HELP!

ATTENDANCE:
Students do need to be here on the days the are scheduled for, if they are not here it is an absence. Students need to be in their classroom by 8:00 am, or they are considered tardy.  This is the same as it has been in years past.  Students must be on their chromebooks doing their school work on the days they are at home as well.  The school day begins at 8:00 am, please make sure students are up and going even if they are in the BCA or on their @ home days.
Bullitt Cloud Academy
Bullitt Cloud Academy students are not affected by Remote Learning Snow Days called by BCPS.  Your class schedule remains the same. If there is a "Traditional Snow Day" called then there is no school at all!  Pay attention to the news and the type of day called.

As always we are always happy to help in anyway
we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.
BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this website. BMS Class Highlights is each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
#BruinBold #GoBruins!
