First BMS NewsBytes of 2021! Check out the information! Tryouts, Rentals, Forms and More!

Dear Bernheim Community,

Thank you for a wonderful first week of school.  We were really hoping that masks would be completely optional but at this point they are required.  Thank you for making the transition easy for your students.  Students have been wonderful this week, we are so proud of them.  They have spent some time learning rules and expectations and have already jumped into the learning.  Science classes are working on creating models of things unseen. Social Studies classes are working on using inferences to draw conclusions. Math classes are jumping right into how mathematicians think, ELA classes are learning about the skill of communication and collaboration. UA classes are getting students right into the process, so we are game on!

ATTENDANCE:
Students need to be in their classroom by 8:00 am, or they are considered tardy.  The school day begins at 8:00 am. Please contact Sandy Veatch with attendance questions at sandy.veatch@bullitt.kyschools.us  or (502)869-4000.

FORMS
Please complete all first day paperwork and send that to school by Tuesday at the latest.  Advisory teachers are collecting forms and fees.  Once the forms and fees are collected Ms. Harrison will distribute lockers and Ms. Elliott will be able to distribute Chromebooks.  WE NEED ALL THE FORMS completed and returned, again, once we have all the forms, lockers will be distributed.

PTSA
Please join the BMS PTSA, though we are still in a pandemic we are truly hoping to bring back the family environment we have always had here at BMS. PTSA will be selling spirit wear soon, so be on the lookout for those flyers and information!

We are always looking for volunteers for different events.  We have started planning a fall festival, we will have student celebrations throughout the year; Bruin Bash, Renaissance Rallies, House Bash's, Reading Parties, Ice Cream Socials and more!  Any help would be appreciated! Please contact the BMS PTSA through their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Bernheimmiddleptsa/  You can also email them at bernheimmiddleptsa@gmail.com.

Please contact Stephanie Dillman at (502) 869-4000 for any questions about volunteering at BMS.

Students' Advisory period is an important part of their day.  Students work through College and Career studies and Character Education connections with their mentor teachers. We are striving to help all students grow in all areas and we are so proud of what they have accomplished.

As always please email amy.bush@bullitt.kyschools.us with any questions or counseling needs

BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
