Dear Bernheim Community,

Welcome to 2022!!! Impossible to believe but here we are! This year has still been challenging for students but they are rising to the occasion and we are so proud of them! With the second half of the year upon us it is time to gear up and get down to business!   Keep reading for more information, check out the dates to remember and check them often as the year progresses we will be adding to them!

Please follow the link to the BMS Class Highlights.(linked) You will find teachers' websites linked along with a brief update of what is going on in class.  Please visit their websites and lesson plan links to see all that  is happening.  The number one way to stay on top of your student's progress is through Infinite Campus. We are here to support your student and family in any way we can, please feel free to reach out. 

Renaissance Program

~Celebrate Success

Students at BMS are recognized and celebrated for the great things they do. We strive to celebrate academic success, hard work and citizenship.  We  incorporate many ways to celebrate students throughout the year. Be Bold Cards, Students of the week, Leaders of the Month, Birthday Bear, Bruin Bash, House Bash, House Competition and the Renaissance Program.  

One big way we celebrate is the Renaissance Program which again, celebrates students' hard work and good citizenship.  Students have earned Gold, (All A’s) Silver (A’s/B’s) or Bronze (A’s B’s C’s) Cards. (Students must also be free from major behavior events during a specific time.)   These cards are available for all students to earn and allow them to participate in extra fun activities or privileges.  Even though not all students have earned the extra fun, all students will be part of the Renaissance Celebration at the end of the day on Jan 28.   All of Bruin Nation has had the opportunity to succeed and earn the Ren Status cards, if students didn't earn it this time we hope they will strive to earn it next time.  Ren Status for the winter rally will be based on the Second quarter grades and behavior.  

Jan 28 celebration will be based on the second quarter successes.  We will have another much larger celebration at the end of the year and we hope that 100% of our students will be eligible for the extra fun that comes with success.   Again, all students will participate in the end of the day celebration at the Ren Rally.  

COUNSELOR NEWS

The Holidays are great for most of us, but for some they bring anxiety and stress.  Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Bush for all your counseling needs.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT 

Tutoring for your Student! What to do when your kid needs help?   Monday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:30 Academic Support is available. Brea Breeze and Lexie Bewley are both leading the after school sessions. Contact the Academic Support Coordinator, Kimberly Newton, with questions or requests for your student to participate. BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher webpages which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
