BMS Newsbytes| News, Updates and Celebrations! Changes coming to the Car Rider Pick Up/Drop Off procedure!

 Dear Bernheim Community,

There are so many great things happening at BMS.  Students are excited about the Renaissance Starter cards about their opportunities for Gold, Silver and Bronze Cards!  Following the Bruin Way we hope that 100% of our students earn a Ren card at the end of the first 9 weeks! More information about the Ren Card System here.

This week students are writing poetry, reading and analyzing an author's point of view and building models of genes, learning about potential and kinetic energy among many other learning experiences!

ATTENDANCE

Please contact Jennifer Vittitoe with attendance questions at jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us  or (502)869-4000. Please see the District Student Covid Information Linked Here

Any transportation changes need to be in the front office by 2:30 pm! The cut off time is crucial to help make sure your students are given the information prior to dismissal.  If you need to make a change to transportation during the day, call the school prior to 2:30 pm and then send in a transportation change note to bmsiuser001@bullitt.kyschools.us ,  You must call in to speak with someone and a written note will be required.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATES-there are many! Please Read!

The following information is from the Transportation Department regarding bus routes linked to 1409.  If you have questions please reach out to them for clarification.

Beginning Monday, August 29th we will not have a driver for bus 1409. To avoid making parents drive t students all the way to schools, the transportation department has  developed a "Plan B" option as described in the following:

Bus 1652 will make stops ON Preston (Hwy 61) between Hwy 480 and Hwy 245. Forest Hill Rd and Newman Hill Rd along with any other streets off Preston will meet on the corner of that street and Preston. Students should expect to see 1652 approximately 6:00, 7:00, and 8:30 in the morning and parents can expect afternoon drop off for these stops around 2:30, 3:30, and 4:20.

Bus 1105 will take all 1409 students from Hwy 480, 6th & 7th Ave. Pick up and drop off locations and times should remain approximately the same as current for both pick up and drop off.

Please keep up with the BCPS Transportation Facebook page (linked) as there has been a great deal of fluidity in the routes.  Announcements and bus changes are posted regularly on their Facebook page.

CAR RIDER CHANGES! COMING THIS WEEK

Due to the high volume of traffic on Audubon Road beginning with PM Dismissal ON TUESDAY AUGUST 3OTH the Car Rider pick up location will be changed to the front of the school building.  This will pull many more vehicles off of Audubon in an effort to alleviate traffic back up on 245.  The procedure will remain the same, two lines of cars, the first 4 cars on both sides will pick up their students, students are not to go behind the orange umbrella and Ms. Bush is traffic control,  Please pay close attention to instructions, and procedures.

MORNING CAR RIDERS STARTING ON THE MORNING OF WEDNESDAY AUGUST 31ST Morning car riders will be dropped off at the front of the school in a SINGLE LINE as we currently do.  The only difference is there will be more space to pull more cars off of Audubon.  The  morning car rider line is a SINGLE LINE.

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.

Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
