It is getting so Close! We are so Excited!
Back to School Night:
Mark your calendars for August 8th from 5:30-7:30. Students may come and see their teachers, check out classrooms, pick-up schedules and see the school. You may drop off 6th grade physicals and immunization records that evening. We will also have tables set up to pay school fees with cash, checks or money orders (no cards please). Parents may pay those fees online @ MySchoolBucks
Coaches and sponsors will have displays highlighting their activities, the BMS FRYSC will be here as well as the PTSA! PTSA will also be holding a special parent election for SBDM. We are so excited to get the school year started and can’t wait to meet each one of you! We look forward to seeing you on August 8th!
First day of school is August 10th.
Students are usually nervous about the first day of school at BMS. But not to worry, at BMS we work very hard to make the first day of school fun and help students feel safe and secure. Students will come into school and be directed to either the cafe or the gym, depending on if they are eating breakfast or not. Teachers will join all students in the gym and we will welcome students to their advisory class. 6th grade students will have extra support and help making the transition.

The Theme is Back to The Future! 80s Gear! We are having a spirit day on the first day of school to show how excited we are to be able to grow with you this year. Each House has their own Color this year for spirit days! Cubs Sixth Graders are BLUE! The Seventh Grade Bears are sporting their House color of GREEN and the Eighth Grade Grizzlies can sport their House color of BLACK! We would love for you to participate! Last year’s Cubs almost swept the house competition for the whole year! Can’t wait to see who rocks it this year!
If you would rather wear a popped up collar or other 80’s gear please do! (dress code appropriate of course) We look forward to celebrating with everyone August 10th!
CHROMEBOOK INFORMATION
All students will need a device for school, BCPS leases chromebooks at a cost of $35 per school year per student. Most students take this option. If students have their own device they will need to complete the district Acceptable Use Policy for use of the internet etc.
Students who will be 7th and 8th graders kept their device over the summer. They will need to bring them back to school charged and ready to go day one. All technology forms and fees are completed and paid each year. Please see district policy for details.
Incoming 6th grade students will receive their chromebooks after the school year has started and all appropriate paperwork is completed.
