It’s been an amazing first full week of school here in Bruin Nation! Our students across the building have been engaged in activities that are building their classroom communities while also allowing them to learn expectations, procedures, and routines. They’ve been diving into content as well with classes already reading short stories, working on art projects, completing science investigations, analyzing historical sources, and solving complex math problems. We are so excited about this school year and know that our students are going to learn so much this year!
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES??
YOU MUST call the school no later than 2:30 pm! The cut off time is crucial to help make sure your students are given the information prior to dismissal. If you need to make a change to transportation during the day, call the school prior to 2:30 pm and then send in a transportation change note to Ms Jennifer Vittitoe jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us You must call in to speak with someone and a written note will be required.
Due to overcrowding on some bus routes students will not be permitted to ride home with friends as a rule.
Bus Riders and CAR Riders-
All students will be coming home Monday with new Car Rider Tags. We are giving tags to all students in the event that we have buses not running in the afternoon. These Car Rider Tags must be displayed on the dash of the car picking up the student beginning Tuesday, August 22nd. If the tag is not displayed, BMS staff may be asking to see the ID of the person picking up the student and that he/she is permitted to pick the student up. This will surely slow the car rider line down if the tags are not displayed. Please help us out with this process. Please contact the school if you will need an additional car rider tag.
If your student generally rides the bus, it would be a good idea to store this tag in your glove compartment until the day comes that you need to pick your student up during a possible bus outage. We ask for your patience and understanding in this added layer of protection for your child.

Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!
We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school. Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected. Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We also have @hentryclaytime on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your students.
