9/16/2024 BMS Newsbytes: News, Celebrations and more.

Dear Bernheim Community,

Thank you for all of your support during the school year.  We had so many great things happening in classrooms this week. Time capsules, art work, design plans and more.  Unfortunately, we also had to send a letter home regarding a school safety issue.  We are committed to creating a secure learning environment, and with everything happening in the world today, it’s normal to feel uneasy. However, if students see or hear something concerning, their immediate course of action is to report it to school administration or a trusted adult rather than discussing it amongst themselves. This ensures any concerns are handled swiftly and appropriately. Discussing these issues among themselves leads to unnecessary fear and confusion.  If any student is feeling anxious or uncertain about school safety, our school counselor, Mrs. Amy Bush, is always available to provide support. Additionally, it’s more important than ever that students understand the impact of their words—even a “joke” can have serious legal consequences that could follow a young person for the rest of their lives.  Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school a safe place for all.

SAME DAY TRANSPORTATION CHANGES??

  • Call the school before 2:30 pm.

  • Send a transportation change note to Ms. Jennifer Vittitoe at jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us.

Be sure to speak with someone at the school and provide the written note. Please note: Due to overcrowding, students typically cannot ride home with friends.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

Huge Shout-Out to all our students and staff for supporting our Go For Gold Campaign this week! It’s wonderful to see how our community comes together to support others, and your kindness truly shows the power of caring.

Our Advisories have started diving into our Graduate Profile Competencies. This Friday we begin work on our Community Contributor Carnival. Advisories will be engaged in various community building activities throughout the day. They will also investigate & choose a non-profit organization to support. This event was a huge success last year and we can’t wait to see what our students create for this year. Make plans to join us for the event on October 24th!

If you have any questions or need counseling support, please feel free to email amy.bush@bullitt.kyschools.us.
