Feb 4-Feb 8, News, Updates, Information and Celebrations!

Dear BMS Community,

It has been a short week here in Bruin Nation but don't think for a minute we didn't use every second we had together to its fullest! Some of our students took a few minutes to learn how to tie a tie.  They are getting ready for the big occasions in life!

Ms. Johnson's 4th period class earned their second READING celebration and had an ice cream break during class! Her group of students is really doing a fantastic job! Reading for pleasure is becoming a lost art. We are encouraging students to read for pleasure while they take time away from devices and screen time.  We are challenging students to find a book and follow the adventure! It has been great so far with many reading celebrations already happening, ask YOUR student what book they are reading and if their 4th period class has had a reading party yet!

We hope parents took advantage of the event Friday night "What's a Parent to Do?"  Being the parent of a 'tweener' is a tough job.  We are here to support and provide as many resources for you as we can.  Please visit the link at the top The Middle Years.  These newsletters are simple and have great information for parents, strategies for students and conversation starters for you and your child.  Check them Out! We will be sending home hard copies this week as well!
Attendance Matters:
Attendance has been horrible as of late.  We know there has been so many germs going around we are doing everything we can to stop the spread here.  Please remind students of healthy habits, let's get them well and get them back in school.
