8/19-8/23 News, Updates and Celebrations!! Check it Out!

Dear Bernheim Community,

This week has been a fantastic first full week of school.  Each classroom has established classroom norms that support our school wide PBIS program.  The goal of Bernheim Middle School is to support Every Student, Every Day while we help them grow into individuals who are consistently CREATING A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE.

This school year we are recognizing, rewarding and celebrating success even more than we have in the past.  Help us support your student by making sure they are here at school and by keeping up with infinite campus through parent portal. There will be increased House Bash's, Bruin Bash's, rewards and celebrations! 

We will again have a READING competition, where each 4th period class earns Reading parties based on number of books read.  So each and every student should be READING FOR AT LEAST 20 minutes a night! Please do check in with them and see that they have a book and are reading! We look forward to celebrating with them!  It is going to be a fantastic year! 

EVERY WEDNESDAY IS
College/Career Gear Day! Wear your College Gear (or Career) and your House Earns Points- Thank you to EKU, Miami of Ohio, University of Alabama and Bellarmine for sending College Gear.  If your family has ties to any Career Gear or Colleges that would be willing to send some gear to BMS we will be thrilled to pass that gear out to kids!  It has been great seeing students excited to get the College / Career Gear!  Spread the word!

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK AND MAKE SURE ALL ARE TURNED IN - THEY ARE PAST DUE.  

Fees and Forms were DUE AUG 9TH, we still have some kiddos who need to turn those in, we WANT to give out LOCKERS AND CHROMEBOOKS, but we need everything turned in.  Please get those in by MONDAY.  If students still need to turn those in, they have been given multiple copies, please assist us so that we can get your child set up for success. 

PTSA Membership

THE BMS PTSA NEEDS parents to be active in their child's school experience.  Even if all you can do is Join the PTSA, every person matters, by your participation in BMS PTSA you help create the best learning environment possible for Every Student, Every Day.  One goal we have is to have at least 75% of BMS parents join PTSA.  Another goal we have is to create a team of parents who can support activities throughout the year such as Book Fair, Fall Festival, Field Trips, 8th Grade Dance, Special Celebrations and more.  If we have a team of 30 or so parents that could help from time to time we would be able to do so many great things.  We are looking so forward to this year and can't wait to grow our team! 

Attached below is the PTSA Membership form.  Please contact Angela Harper with questions or ideas to support BMS students and staff.  We love our community and are excited for a great year!

We've Got Spirit Yes we DO!  Please help support BMS and the BMS PTSA by purchasing a spirit shirt! Every Friday is BMS Spirit day and we would love to see students rocking the BMS Gear!  

Information is below, if you would like to order a shirt. The order form can be printed, completed and returned with payment to the BMS front office.  Order forms are also available in the front office.

As always please let us know how we may be of assistance to you, we

are always happy to help.  There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.  BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, please favorite this website.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
