Thank YOU! Updates, News and Celebrations! 9/27-10/11

Dear Bernheim Community,

We want to give a huge thank you to to all the parents and families that joined us for BMS Be A Bruin Night(Title 1 Literacy Night) This year was probably the best yet.  Students helped plan the evening, sharing best teaching practises with families, and offered a glimpse into the life of a Bruin! Thank you to Ms. Connie Mc Daniel and Ms. Carol Clemons for making and serving the WORLD'S BEST CHILI to families.  They had a little help in the kitchen from Ms. Jenkins, Ms. Bush, Ms. Harrison and Mr. Raikes! Thank you to all for serving our community.   We have to give another huge shout out to all the teachers for helping their students plan sessions for parents, BMS staff is the picture of extreme dedication.  Another shout out to the parents who volunteered to participate in the Minute to Win It competitions- there are some brave parents out there! We thank you for your willingness to earn points for your student's House Team!  Lastly, Ms. Jenkins and Ms. Bush organized the evening for us with some help from the BMS CEO's.  It was a great night and we can't wait for next year!

We ended our week with the September Bruin Bash, we had more students than ever eligible to participate,- remember students must be passing all classes, have turned in all notes and be free of unexcused absences as well as have followed the Bruin Way and be free of major discipline referrals.  We have so many ways to celebrate students and reward them for doing the right thing! Look for House Bashes and the big RENAISSANCE RALLY in the winter and in the spring! We seek to constantly recognize students for their success!

Box Tops for Education is an easy method to support schools. They have a cool new app, that allows you to scan receipts and the box top funds go straight to your school account- supper easy and costs families nothing other than a second or two to scan items receipts.

As always we are always happy to help in any way we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.  BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, please favorite this website. BMS Class Highlights is each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
#BernheimStrong Go Bruins!
