BMS News, Updates, and Celebrations 4/13-4/17

Dear Bernheim Community,

The question of the day is, HOW ARE YOU? We know this has been a stress filled time for many and we are doing our best to help your students stay focused, mentally engaged and let them know they are loved!  We can't wait until life has returned to somewhat normal when we can see all of our BMS Community again.  In the meantime we love seeing the pictures folks have been sending in for publication! Keep it up!

Attendance and Honor Roll in NTI world.
Student attendance is being counted through their participation in their classes.  So please, get them up and working, check to see if they are doing their work and submitting it.  Keep up with their grades through Parent Portal. (the process is the same now as it has always been)   The whole community has been outstanding and we want to keep up the high 'attendance' rates we have been showing.

This week's NTI Attendance is:
95% for Cubs
98% for Bears
93% for Grizzlies
95% Total for BMS

This weeks Honor Roll percentage by grade are:
CUBS= 48.5% OF 6th GRADE STUDENTS HAVE A's and B's
BEARS= 35.8% OF 7th GRADE  STUDENTS HAVE A's and B's
GRIZZLIES= 54.7% OF 8th GRADE STUDENTS HAVE A's and B's

Midterms are coming up! Check Parent Portal Friday to see your student's grades!

Keeping Up Traditions in a Virtual World
Spirit Weeks are a part of what we do at BMS to build community and school spirit! This week was our virtual spirit week and we had several students participate. We would love all students to participate next time around! BMS students are the best! Let's show some "Bruins in the House" Spirit! Check out the great contributions here, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. BMS Community rocks! We loving sharing your pictures!
Keep On Shining
We are still encouraging students to paint Kindness Rocks.  They can paint as many as they would like, the more the better!  Please send those pictures to Ms. Elliot.  (karla.elliott@bullitt.kyschools.us

We will gather those photos and post them on our social media. Feel free to pass those rocks on to other folks around you, I found one in my yard this morning.  It brightened my day! We would love for you to bring some back to school when we return! Let's fill up the whole front picnic area with colorful rocks passing along a message of kindness. We can't wait to see all the great things you are going to create.  Send us pictures and videos of the wonderful things you are doing to Be Creative, Be Kind and Keep on Shining!

Resources
Keep in mind there are so many resources out there for our families.  BCPS Food service will be delivering weekly meal bulk packs on TUESDAYS.  Please take advantage of that for your families and check out www.bcpsmeals4me.com .  If you or someone you know needs assistance over the break please let us know.  Please contact Ms. Tiffany Jenkins the BMS FRYSC Coordinator.  tiffany.jenkins@bullitt.kyschools.us

Extra Educational Resources for Parents/Students
We had a fantastic suggestion from a parent that we began working on right away.  We are consolidating resources for students to use as enrichment.  There is a site that includes a set of links for students to explore topics online.  We are going to continue to add to it and modify as this process continues.  Thank you for the suggestion and we hope this is helpful.  The link is labeled BMS NTI Enrichment links for students at the top of this site.

Online Registration-Opens After Spring Break
Please follow the attached link to get to the information regarding Online Registration.
The goal is to make the start of the year paperwork a little less overwhelming for families.  ALL students, returning and new to the district students, must get online and complete the process.  BCPS school district website has more information.  This is new for all of us but in the end, once everyone gets acquainted with the process it will be much easier for families.  Please feel free to reach out to Stephanie Dillman and Sandy Veatch for assistance with this process. They can be reached at stephanie.dillman@bullitt.kyschools.us and sandy.veatch@bullitt.kyschools.us respectively.  Our office staff will be more than happy to help with this process please let them know how they may be of assistance.

Survey
Thank you to the few of you have have provided feedback.  We appreciate it and will continue take into account your ideas and thoughts.  Please click the link below and complete this short questionnaire.  We will use this information to grow and improve the process, Parent Feedback form on BMS NTI Days.

Even during NTI days there have been students who have risen to the occasion and have stood out to their teachers as leaders.  Congratulations to the March NTI Leaders of the Month!
