September 14- September 18 News Updates and Student Celebrations.

Dear Bernheim Community,
We are starting our first full week of school and just like we do at the start of every year we are going to be assessing students to determine where they are academically.   The assessment will be September 15th and 16th.  We will have students take the Reading assessment on September 15th and the Math assessment on September 16th.  The schedule for those dates has been modified and shared with students and with you here.  Teachers have gone over the schedule with students through advisory classes

Your student's advisory teacher, Math and ELA teachers will go over the details.  Students know that being Bold in Excellent Work Ethic is part of the Bruin Way.  Please remind your student to give this assessment their best effort so that we can get an accurate picture of where they are now and what our next steps need be academically.  Ms. Adrienne Usher, assistant superintendent, provides a detailed explanation regarding the assessment and the process in the  linked letter .

BELOW IS THE ADJUSTED SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY (9/15 AND 9/16)

Title 1 School Information
BMS is a Title 1 school.  This means we receive a grant to support students in a variety ways. BMS provides extra support in both reading and math through the support of staff who help students in small groups for Math and Reading.  We work to support students needs in all ways. Another benefit of being a Title 1 school is being able to provide lunch and breakfast for all students at no cost to you.  You should have received, by good old fashioned mail this week, a form regarding this program. Please take a minute to complete the forms and send them back to BMS.

Below is the Title 1 Parent Involvement commitment.  We truly appreciate all support and input.

Please fill out the attached form, there are just a few questions, all feedback is appreciated. If you prefer not to answer the questions please just enter your student's name verifying your receipt of this document.
