2/1/21-2/5/21 Student News, Celebrations and Updates!

Dear Bernheim Community,

We are so happy to have students in the building and it seems like they are glad to be back too! We have been having some lunchtime fun this week with games, celebrations and the odd Schoolhouse Rock!  The students are doing a fantastic job and we are so thrilled to have them back in the Bruin Den!

Please remind your student that on their at home learning days they need to log in and complete their assignments.  Each teacher has Help Desk time and is available via email or GoGuardian.  So many students are doing a fantastic job, there are others who really need to step it up.  Please be checking their Infinite Campus grades regularly.

CASE ASSESSMENT THIS WEEK! DO YOUR BEST!  All students will be taking the CASE Assessment this week, it is very important that we are able to determine students current academic progress so that we can meet their individual needs.  Awesome Students (A-day) and BCA students will complete the assessment on Monday and Tuesday.  Brilliant Students (B-day) will complete the assessment on Thursday and Friday.  Please make sure they have their Chromebook Charged and are well rested!

Report Cards for the second quarter are already posted in IC and went home with Awesome (A-day) Students on Tuesday and Brilliant (B-day) Students on Friday.  BCA students' report cards are available through Infinite Campus, we will mail them home as well next week, but they are currently available for viewing.

Virtual Learning Snow Days.  Students who are supposed to be in person will log in to their regularly scheduled classes with their teachers according to their Hybrid Schedule. For example, last Thursday was a B-Day, so B-day students should have logged into their zoom class with the teachers they would have seen in person and they should have followed their regular in person schedule. This way they won't fall behind and teachers can work with them directly.  Each teacher will post the zoom link in their google classroom for the day.  Our Bears and Grizzlies did a great job of showing up! If it is your regularly scheduled @Home Learning day then you follow the @home learning lessons teachers have posted for you.  For Example, A-day students last Thursday had @home learning assignments posted the same as they wound have if there had been no snow.  BCA students schedule won't be impacted due to weather. Hopefully there won't be any more Virtual Learning Snow Days, but if there is everyone knows the procedure now.

Next Weeks Schedule

HYBRID SCHEDULE HELP DESK

ATTENDANCE:
Students do need to be here on the days the are scheduled for, if they are not here it is an absence. Students need to be in their classroom by 8:00 am, or they are considered tardy.  This is the same as it has been in years past.  Students must be on their chromebooks doing their school work on the days they are at home as well.  The school day begins at 8:00 am, please make sure students are up and going even if they are in the BCA or on their @ home days.

As always we are always happy to help in anyway
we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.
BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this website. BMS Class Highlights is each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
