Jan 11th- Jan 15th: Student Celebrations, News, and Updates

Dear Bernheim Community,

Last week each family will received notification from the district informing them of the student's assigned day for Hybrid Learning.  Please make sure to use the information provided by the district on January 4th as that is the correct group assignment for Hybrid Learning.  Advisory teachers have been making sure students understand which group they are in and any adjustments to the daily schedule.  We cannot thank our community enough for making 20-21 a year to remember.  100 years from now this will be something in the history books! BMS School Community has been absolutely awesome in facing all the challenges that have been overcome this year! Keep Being Bold in Kindness, Courage and Excellent Work Ethic! We got this Bruin Nation!

A-day students will be here on January 19th (Tuesday)! We are so excited! That will also be picture day for those students.  Dress for success!  Wednesday will be Remote Learning day for all; with the day beginning at 8:00am with advisory.  B-day students will be here Jan 21 and 22. January 22nd is Picture day for the B day students!

BCA students will have the opportunity to have their school picture made for the yearbook from 12 pm-2 pm on the January 22nd.  Please watch  for information from Ms. Newton regarding the details.

NEXT WEEK
Next week we are still on the Remote Learning Schedule.  Please see below for the daily schedule.  Remember Wednesday's school wide are Power Path days.  Students are to be in advisory at 8:00 am and their assignments drop at 8:00 am.

SECOND QUARTER ENDS JANUARY 15TH
The last day of the 2nd 9 weeks is January 15th.  Please encourage your student to stay up to date on their assignments. As I said to students in the morning announcements, some kids have done fantastic and have nothing to worry about, we are so proud of those kiddos!  Some students on the other hand are extremely far behind and are looking at possible summer school or retention.  They have time to turn it around and we will do what we can to help them.  The best way to keep up with your student's progress is through Infinite Campus.  Please log in and check your students grades regularly.

Remember Tuesdays and Fridays we have after school Academic Success (ESS) from 3:00 -4:30 pm! Please contact Ms. Brea Breeze and/or Ms. Sheila Kuykendall with questions!

SECOND SEMESTER UPDATES
Below is the most recent calendar from BCPS.  You will notice this only takes us through the end of the THIRD nine weeks.  If we have learned anything from living through a pandemic it is that things change.  Please note that the first "In-person" day for the Hybrid Schedule is currently January 19th, January 20th is Remote for all, and January 21st is the first day for B-Day students.

Remember School pictures will be made January 19th for A-Day students and January 22nd for B-day students. BCA students will have the opportunity to have their school picture made for the yearbook from 12 pm-2 pm on the January 22nd.  Please watch  for information from Ms. Newton regarding the details.

HYBRID SCHEDULE HELP DESK
(Starts when Hybrid Starts)
Once we begin the Hybrid Schedule students who are in-person but are working at home will have access to their teachers for help during specific times.  Remember if A-Day kids are at school and I am a B-day kid, then all my B-day assignments for the day will drop at 8:00 am.   Since A-day kids are at school the teachers are working directly with those students and aren't available all day as they have been so far this year.  So, as a B-day kid, I will look over my work and plan to connect with my teachers during their HELP DESK times listed below if I need help.   This is going to be a change for students and for staffulty; so we are hoping that we can help students start planning for the change now.  Please contact any of us with questions and as always your student's advisory teacher is a great connection and can help in any way.
Please see The Middle Years Newsletter attached at the top of this site.  There are many things that are unique to middle schools students and this publication provides help and support for parents as we wander through the wonder years!  Check it out and let us know what you think about it! As always please email amy.bush@bullitt.kyschools.us with any questions or counseling needs

As always we are always happy to help in anyway
we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.
BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this website. BMS Class
Highlights is each
teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
#BruinBold #GoBruins!
