January 19th-January 22nd: News, Updates and Celebrations!

 Dear Bernheim Community,

Welcome Back to our Awesome Kids on the A-Day and our Brilliant Kids on the B-Day to in-person learning! We are beginning the Hybrid Schedule and are thrilled to have Bruins in the House! All advisory teachers have communicated to their students what their correct assigned day will be and a message was sent out via the district so everyone should be ready.  Please make sure students come on the assigned day, sadly if they show up on the wrong day they will need to be picked up.  We know everyone is excited and so are we!

What do we need to know for Semester 2 Day 1??

What does the week look like?

BMS BCA students continue as you have been this past week! Not much changes for you.

Awesome Day/Brilliant Day (A/B Day): below is what your schedule looks like for next week.  No School Monday!

CAR RIDERS:

Morning: Remember there are two lines in the morning. You must have your temperature taken before exiting your car.  Don't have the heat blowing directly on you and remove all caps or hats before we take your temperature while waiting in the car. That way we won't get a false reading on the thermometer.

Afternoon: There will be two lines and we will dismiss as usual.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • MASK! We will still need to wear our masks all the time! Please make sure you have a clean one each day!
  • Backpack with Chromebook (Charged) and charger,
  • Your Lanyard - Remember it has your Starter Card and is your Hall Pass!
  • Something to write with and something to write on.
  • Water Bottle (Clear Refillable Please)
  • Jacket for going outside for Mask Breaks!
LUNCH:

Breakfast and Lunch are both provided for this year FREE of charge.

ATTENDANCE:
Students do need to be here on the days the are scheduled for, if they are not here it is an absence. Students need to be in their classroom by 8:00 am, or they are considered tardy.  (Same as it was pre-Covid)

GREAT WORK ETHIC AND A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
Be ready to work hard and be game on! We are so glad we will get to see you again! YOU ARE Amazing.

HYBRID SCHEDULE HELP DESK
HYBRID starts January 19th!

Remember if A-Day kids are at school and I am a B-day kid, then all my B-day assignments for the day will drop at 8:00 am.   Since A-day kids are at school the teachers are working directly with those students and aren't available all day as they have been so far this year.  So, as a B-day kid, I will look over my work and plan to connect with my teachers during their HELP DESK times listed below if I need help.

This is going to be a change for students,  we are hoping that we can help students by having them plan for the change now! Print it out and keep it in your students "learning space" at home. Please contact any of us with questions and as always your student's advisory teacher is a great connection and can help in any way.

THIRD QUARTER STARTS JAN 19
The last day of the 2nd 9 weeks is January 15th.  Please encourage your student to stay up to date on their assignments. As I said to students in the morning announcements, some kids have done fantastic and have nothing to worry about, we are so proud of those kiddos!
Some students on the other hand are extremely far behind and are looking at summer school or retention. The best way to keep up with your student's progress is through Infinite Campus.  Please log in and check your students grades regularly.
Most Recent BCPS Calendar
Below is the most recent calendar from BCPS.  You will notice this only takes us through the end of the THIRD nine weeks.  If we have learned anything from living through a pandemic it is that things change.

Please see The Middle Years Newsletter attached at the top of this site.  There are many things that are unique to middle schools students and this publication provides help and support for parents as we wander through the wonder years!  Check it out and let us know what you think about it! As always please email amy.bush@bullitt.kyschools.us with any questions or counseling needs

Keep Being Amazing Bruin Nation!!!

As always we are always happy to help in anyway
we can. There are so many ways to keep up with what is going on at BMS.
BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this website. BMS Class
Highlights is each
teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class.  The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information along with links to individual teacher websites (also linked above) which are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school.  Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected.  Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Remind. We also have @hentryclaytime  on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
Thank you again for providing us the opportunity to serve you and your student.
#BruinBold #GoBruins!
