We have had a busy week between KPREP testing and preparing for CASE. Please make sure your student is present at school with their charged chromebook and their charger. We will have Reading on Monday and Math on Tuesday. The data gathered from these assessments along with KPREP will help determine programing for your student in the upcoming years. Please remind your students to do their best!
SUMMER LEARNING
We have room for approximately 70 students for our morning Math and Reading Summer Program this year. There are 9 days in June the "camps" will be happening and those students will be notified through IC, phone
calls and USPS letters. If your student is invited/notified please do make every effort to get them here. We know 2020-2021 will be a year for the history books and we want to do all we can to support students. In the event your student does not get a letter or notification of the summer Math and Reading program but you would like your student to attend please call the school at (502)869-4000 and ask for Ms. Tabby. We can add their name to a waiting list and add them if room becomes available.
There are additional Summer Learning Opportunities in the afternoons. BCPS has posted the SUMMER UNLIMITED LEARNING opportunities on their website. We have also linked it here. These are great opportunities for students outside of academic content. Students who are coming to morning sessions will also be able to attend afternoon sessions! Check here for details!
Chromebooks?:
ANY STUDENT NOT RETURNING TO BMS NEXT YEAR MUST TURN IN CHROMEBOOKS TO THEIR 5TH PERIOD TEACHER MAY 28TH. MAKE SURE THEIR CHARGERS ARE WITH THE CHROMEBOOKS. ALL 8TH GRADE STUDENTS WILL BE TURNING IN CHROMEBOOKS AND CHARGERS. 8th Grade BCA students will need theirs for the last day of school therefore BCA 8th grade Chromebooks can be turned in at BMS June 4th-June 10th between 8:00-3:00 pm. BCPS FRESHMEN WILL RECEIVE NEW ONES UPON THEIR START OF HIGH SCHOOL.( IF THEY ARE IN A BCPS SCHOOL)
Current 6th and 7th grade students returning to BMS please hold on to them and bring them back next year. Remember the leasing fee will need to be paid at the start of next year.
8th Grade Promotion
If you requested transportation for promotion practice, buses will pick up 8th grade students on June 2 between 6:45 am and 7:15 am at their regular bus stop. Please call Ms. Tabby with questions regarding bus stops and times prior to June 2. (502) 869-4000. * Please note BCA students received promotion tickets on May 19, after KPrep Testing. BMS In-Person students will receive their tickets on May 28th.
YEARBOOKS
BCA students may begin picking up yearbooks Wednesday May 26th- June 2. Please come between 9:00 am and 2:00pm. We will start passing them out to in-person students on Thursday of the upcoming week.
