What a great start to the school year, the first quarter is behind us and we are so excited about what is ahead. Speaking of what is coming up the week we come back is Red Ribbon Week! See below for the spirit days! We hope all students commit to being drug and alcohol free and while we promote safe and healthy habits we hope to have a little fun. Check it out!

FALL BREAK FAMILY TIME
We hope that each and every family takes some time to do some fun family things over fall break. We are looking so forward to seeing students when the return! We will see everyone back here on October 17th.

After Fall Break there will be some changes to some classroom teachers. With Ms. Watkins' promotion we are doing a little shuffle. Some students will gain a new advisory teacher and those teachers will be contacting you after fall break. We are so blessed to have wonderful teachers at BMS and look forward to the rest of the year with your students.

BMS ATHLETICS
The Lady Bruins were in action this week against the Bullitt Lick Middle School and the Mount Washington Generals! Both the 6th and 7th grade teams showed improvement this week and our 8th grade team was able to stay undefeated. Now sporting a record of 9-0!
We are so proud of the 8th Grade Lady Bruins. Thank you to Coach Dillman for supporting them throughout the years and for making their last year in middle school amazing. The ladies had their 8th grade night this past week on October 4th and we are looking forward to their next steps!

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS News Bytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Individual teacher websites are extremely useful to both students and parents. It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school. Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected. Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We also have @hentryclaytime on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
