Thank you for a great week in Bruin Nation! This week we have had the experts from Calhoun Construction Solar Energy Installation present to students in conjunction with their tiny home project in science and math. The Fire Department visits Ms. Ackermans STEM classes for their fire safety and investigation forensic unit. Students have completed ELS testing for the fall this week and have begun their Community Contributor Projects with their advisories! We are grateful for our BMS community!
FALL BREAK is October 5th through October 14th for students. We hope students are able to enjoy their time off and will be ready to work hard upon their return! We are already to the end of the first quarter, the year is flying by!
SCHOOL SAFETY
As we have seen a couple issues at BMS we are going to be incorporating a couple of assemblies in the near future. (Dates TBD) The first is presented by the CDW and County Attorney’s office. They are going to let students know the seriousness of making threats and how the law reacts to such events. Other schools in the district have had the same presentation and have benefited greatly. We want students to make wise decisions and know we are going to continue to keep BMS a safe learning environment for all.
The second assembly we are having is to inform students on the dangers of VAPING. We have seen an increase in this over the last couple of years and we are concerned for our students' health and wellbeing. The age that students are beginning to vape is getting younger and younger.
Our students' safety is our number one concern, and we want to do everything we can to ensure BMS has a safe and caring and school community.
SAME DAY TRANSPORTATION CHANGES??
Call the school before 2:30 pm.
Send a transportation change note to Ms. Jennifer Vittitoe at jennifer.vittitoe@bullitt.kyschools.us.
Be sure to speak with someone at the school and provide the written note. Please note: Due to overcrowding, students typically cannot ride home with friends.

We have had many students turn in their Work Ethic Certification Commitment Form. We would love to recognize your child at the end of the year with a Work Ethic Certificate! Please see the link here for more information.

We do our best to keep you informed! BMS NewsBytes is our weekly newsletter, favorite this blog and the school website. BMS Class Highlights includes each teacher's snapshot about what's going on in class. The school website has all forms, information, calendar updates and district information you might need. Make sure you have downloaded the BCPS app and entered your students code for ROOMS. All information is there for teachers lessons! It is important that you log into Parent Portal and choose the option to receive email and texts from the school. Not only can you view your students grades, attendance and other information it is also a great communication tool to keep you connected. Lastly, please follow us on social media including Facebook, X and Instagram. We also have @henryclaytime on Instagram to keep up with the antics of our school therapy dog. As you can see we want to make every effort to stay connected with families.
